Whoa, let me clarify, this is a 2.6 bug *only*.
2.4.27 actually has the required raid controller drivers. Apparently,
the megaraid drivers underwent significant changes for 2.6 and only got
back in the kernel with 2.6.9 or .10. (I might have the details wrong on
this as I'm only piecing this together from searches.)
And yeah, it is a shame as this raid controller is the one used by
Dell's two most popular server lines, so we're forcing a lot of
"enterprise" users to choose between 2.6 and Debian.
