Bug#253197: Fix for the problem

You may want to double check the first CD of the full set. I didn't see it on there either. I could be just missing seeing it, but I don't think so.

I hadn't realized the kernel-images you list below call the most
updated versions. If these are to be used, don't the
kernel-image-2.6-686 and other deb files need to be included with the
install CD? They are not in either the netinst or cd install versions
that I downloaded. I have a dual Xeon set up and the get_arch_kernel
is reading the cpuinfo file correctly, it just doesn't find the kernel
on the disk. That's when I noticed it was only looking for 2.6, but
the only available kernel-image packages had 2.6.8-2.

No, they are not on the netinst. That is because we want to keep its size
around 110 MB. The netinst only contains the generic -386 kernels, so the
installation system falls back to that.

The other kernels should be included on the first CD of the full CD sets.
They will also be available over the Internet if you use floppy
installation, netbooting hd-media installation or the businesscard CD.
