Package: base-installer
Severity: normal

If you don't set noapic with that motherboard, then the
installer fails to load the IDE driver.

This is not a bug in the installation system, but a problem with kernel
support for your mainboard. This is exactly the reason why such boot
parameters are documented in the help screens and the installation
manual.

Therefore, closing this bug.
