This January, you reported some problems with the debian installer on your HP Pavilion. I think all of them are fixed, except possibly the VIA-Rhine-II NIC not working. Can you try again with a current version of the debian installer, and see if it works? You don't need to complete the install, just see if it can get the network up and running. If it still doesn't work, it would be good to boot the installer to use the 2.6 kernel (type linux26 at the boot prompt), and see if that version of the kernel does better. -- see shy jo
