(I am sending this to -boot per tbm's suggestion).

Hi,
  Since I am in the process of moving out to my own flat, I'm trying
to figure out what I actually need to take with me...
  So I have this old-world PowerMac clone (Umax Apus 2000, same as an
SuperMac C500) that I don't use anymore, but might be useful to
anyone that wants to test/play with Debian on old world PowerMacs.
It's in excellent condition and has had quite a number of upgrades
(actually, i upgraded it as far as it would go), here are the specs:

* slim desktop (i would say it's around 5-7 Kg)
* Upgraded to G3/280MHz with 1 MB L2 cache
* Upgraded to 144 MBs of RAM (maximum for this machine)
* Adaptec 2940UW SCSI controler
* Plextor 40X SCSI CD-ROM
* 9 GB U2W SCSI disk (I don't remember the brand, probably Quantum)
* 100Mbps Ethernet card
* Preinstalled Macos 9 (minimal system) and Debian testing(of course)
* MacSerial to 25-pin serial cable convertor (so you can connect a
modem)
* 3 button ADB mouse
* some CDs (not much) of MacOS Software

I feel very fondly for this system, as it was this one which got me
into Debian in the first place, but it has become too slow for my
needs nowadays and I would feel better if someone used it for a good
cause, instead of getting dust in a closet (for example d-i on old
world powermacs?)

So, if anyone wants to use this system, please feel free to drop me a
mail. If there are more than one persons that want it (well that
would be something :-), I will probably give it to the one that will
likely make the most of it, so please tell me what you would like to
do with it!

If it was not clear, I am not selling it, I am giving it away. I have
spent too much money on this system, just to sell it for a trifle on
ebay or similar and I much more prefer to donate it for a good cause.
I don't ask anything else, other than the cost to package and send
it.

I hope someone might be interested, otherwise I'm thinking of donating
to Africa (I got this idea from the recent story on /., which is a
very good idea actually).

Regards

Konstantinos
