Is this just a case of your proxy server requiring authentication before you
can browse the web? Is it using standard Basic authentication, or do you get
some random web form you have to use to authenticate before any other URL
will be accepted?

If it's the former, then the screen where you specify your proxy server can
be extended to include optional authentication information.
