Comments/Problems:

During base system install and configure, i got an error which stopped
the install process (ie main-menu) - i found the error in
/var/log/debootstrap.log - paraphrasing from memory:
"ln : /usr/bin/awk: File exists"

I deleted the file /usr/bin/awk , and the process could continute.

This problem seems to be in debootsrap script itself.

The second more serious error, was the dpkg configure process would
never complete (it repeated five times but never got passed certain
packages depending on others not installed).
I found that running "apt-install -f" would fix the problem from the cmd
line, but the install process (ie main-menu) would always start from
scratch and hence not get passed the dpkg configuration stage.

I fixed this problem by adding "--force-depends" into the "sarge" script
, on the last line that uses dpkg to "--configure" all the packages.

After these fixes the system installed fine, and after rebooting the
process continued and everything was ok. X11, sound as usual need more
tweaking after the install finishes.
