Root Device:    3ware Escalade 8006-2LP RAID-Controller,
                using to Maxtore 80 GB HD formated as RAID 1
I installed kernel 2.6.8 because of it's build-in device driver 
                for 3ware RAID controller. Since kernel release 2.6.7-3 the
                kernel includes the latest available device driver (version
                1.26.00.39) offered by the manufacturer of this controller.
                Evaluated by 'cat /proc/scsi/3w-xxxx/O' .

Root Size/partition table:  /dev/sda1 type 83 (Linux) mounted as root
                                      (/), formated with xfs, size 4 GB,
primary partition, bootable, lilo in MBR 

                            /dev/sda2 type 82 (swap), size 512 MB,
                                      primary partition
free space to be formated and assinged later ...

Comments/Problems:

As mentioned in the installation manual, installing bootload GRUB in the MBR
of xfs filesystem canceled when the loadbar reaches 50%. Second try wiht LILO 
works fine.
