Comments/Problems:
The Dell XPS comes default with dual raid configured sata disks. D-I is
unable to
detect the drives or the raid. Entering the bios and disabling the raid
and enabling
pata access solved the problem, to the extent that a base system could
be installed.
Unfortunately, the 2.4 kernel is unable to enable DMA for the harddrives
and 2.6.9 as
distributed by debian unstable is unable to boot.
