Bug#279065: Package: installation-reports
Package: installation-reports
Debian-installer-version: 10/31/2004 12:00 from
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/2.6/
uname -a: Linux DebII 2.6.7-1-386 #1 Thu Jul 8 05:08:04 EDT 2004 i686
unknown
Date: 10/31/2004 12:30
Method: I did a network install from debian.uni-c.dk. No proxy. Using
DHCP. The initial boot media were located on a Windows XP NTFS
partition. I did as described at
http://marc.herbert.free.fr/linux/win2linstall.html
Machine: HP/Compaq nx5000
Processor: Intel Centrino Pentium M
Memory: 512 MB
Root Device: Could not mount root partition
Root Size/partition table:
Output of lspci and lspci -n: Could not run them.

Comments/Problems:
Everything went fine untill the installer tried to detect my HD. The
installer failed with the following message:
No partitionable media were found.
Please check that a hard disk is attached to this machine.
My HD works fine on windows XP and Suse Linux. Plus I used the HD for
initial boot media, as described above. __Maybe__ the IDE is not
released properly after being used as boot media.
The RC2 version of the installer could detect my HD, so it is a new
problem.
