Package: discover1-data I've already filed a different bug for the initrd-tools problem, so I thought I'd send this mailing list post in as a discover1-data bug since it reports a missing pci id for a megaraid2 controller. ----- Forwarded message from Zachary Schneider <sigil@ironkeep.net> ----- From: Zachary Schneider <sigil@ironkeep.net> Date: Tue, 26 Oct 2004 21:39:03 -0400 To: debian-boot@lists.debian.org Subject: Megaraid issues X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.619) So the latest sarge installer doesn't like my DELL 2850's PERC RAID controller no prob add the following line to /usr/share/discover/pci.lst UNDER 1028 DELL COMPUTER CORPORATION 10280013 scsi megaraid2 Powerdge Expandable RAID controller 4 run hardware detect again, yay installs. boot kernel panic ack! figure out oh, the initrd that the installer installed with the new kernel does not have: modprobe -k megaraid2 ick used installed disk to mount new / used chroot, the /etc/mkinitrd et al to create new mkinitrd with megaraid2 viola sarge installed on DELL 2850 with working raid too much work though, I think this is enough info to get this fixed, if not feel free to email me. Also I couldn't even get the 2.6version (linux26) to load the megaraid driver (I guess in 2.6 megaraid2 == megaraid) don't know what is going on here so someone may want to look into that as well.
