Comments/Problems:
The U50 has a single USB2 port to which the keyboard is attached. I
believe the bios (phoenix BIOS v. R0041G5) emulates a PS-2 keyboard, and
it has no option to turn off that emulation. I'm netbooting the contents
of 2004-09-30 netboot.tar.gz and at the loader, I choose the expert26
boot option.
When I get to the keyboard selection, if I say I have a USB keyboard
then the arrows and enter key work, but tab and space do not (and
without tab I get stuck on the network hardware module selection
screen).
If I say I have a PS-2 keyboard, then the arrows, tab and enter work but
space does not and any letter keys believe the control key is held down
- pressing "h" produces a backspace, "a" moves the cursor to the start
of the line, "e" moves to the end of the line, etc...
Using the rc1 installer if I booted with
"expert26 debian-installer/probe/usb=false" and selected the PS-2
keyboard option I was able to use the keyboard fine and complete the
installation, but that option doesn't make any difference using the
pre-rc2 installer.
