The file-system creation then fails (at tune2fs?). Also, tried: - - mounting a second devfs: It also does not contain the partitions - - call sync: does no difference - - sfdisk: shows the new partitions. Apparently, the kernel does not reread the new partition-table. After a reboot, the installation seemed to work (didn't complete it, though) Using this image as a rescue disc showed a related (?) problem: trying to mount an existing ext3 partition failed, claiming the device or resource was in use. It should not habe been, though (partitioner was never run, booted "expert" entry). - -- Olaf Mandel eMail Olaf@Mandel.name -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 8.1 iQA/AwUBQXO255mn0sYzOYhIEQKcVQCfWEJuT5tXqQIe6kiAtKCmRJ6gwwsAnRdU 3vHcMtREPynLNcm8BlveglWz =T98o -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
