Bug#276555: installation-reports debian-installer rc1
Package: installation-reports
Debian-installer-version: Netinst RC1 from www.debian.org/debian-installer
uname -a: n/a
Date: 2004/10/01
Method: Netinst CD & Network install, booting cd using sbm floppy. Used
debian.yorku.ca as mirror for aptitude packages downloads. No proxy.
Machine: Gigabyte GA 586ATS
Processor: Pentium-S 166
Memory: 32 MiB
Root Device: IDE /dev/hda1
Root Size/partition table: not important to this report (successful
install using a multiuser customized part layout)
Output of lspci and lspci -n:
Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it
Initial boot worked: [O]
Configure network HW: [O]
Config network: [O]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]
Partition hard drives: [E]
Create file systems: [E]
Mount partitions: [ ]
Install base system: [ ]
Install boot loader: [ ]
Reboot: [ ]
Comments/Problems:
Attempts to create a LVM partition scheme failed. Initial creation of
the lvm partition was okay, but the installer got confused while
attempting to assign volumes, mount points, and file system types (even
for ext3, though a previous install attempt was with reiserfs).
Sorry for lack of details, but I only found the base with the template
today, so I've forgotten much.
