Bug#262761: about your Debian installation report

I am unable to run another test against this particular bug report as that
machine is now a production server and I no longer have access to it.

Checking things with the current debian packages however, the problem is due
to a driver that hotplug loads on this particular system - the i810-tco
module. This causes the internal watchdog timer to kick off two minutes
after system load as I have nothing enabled to reset the timer on that
system.

The problem is hotplug loads an incorrect driver as it's blacklist file
lists the driver with the incorrect details - it lists the driver as
i810_tco not i810-tco, thereby allowing hotplug to load the driver, thereby
causing the system to reset as per the correct functionality of the driver
with the watchdog timer not being reset.

This should most likely be a bug report against hotplug instead of the
installer looking at it in more detail.

Happy to spend the time on these sort of things when I've got the time.

Subject: Bug#262761: about your Debian installation report

Hello, I'm writing you because you filed an installation report a while ago
on an old version of the debian installer. Your installation report was
#262761
and can be viewed online at <http://bugs.debian.org/262761>.

Since you filed that report, we have released several much improved
versions of the installer, including our first Release Candidate. We are in
the final stages of preparing our second Release Candidate. I suspect that
most or all of the problems you reported are fixed in the latest version of
the installer, but we currently lack the manpower to check every
installation report. So, I'd appreciate your help.

If you can, please go to <http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer> and
download the latest release of the installer. Try another install and see
if the problem you reported is still present. If you're able to test this,
please send a mail to 262761@bugs.debian.org and report whether the problems
you reported are fixed, or still present.

If you're unable to do this test for whatever reason, please send a mail to
262761@bugs.debian.org and let us know, and we will try to look at your
report
in more detail.

Thanks for your installation report and for your time.
