Method: CD, then net, via PCMCIA NIC. No proxy.

Machine: IBM Thinkpad 600E
Processor: PII/266
Memory: 128MB
Root Device: IDE
Root Size/partition table: 3GB root, 6.4GB disk
Output of lspci: [not on this machine]

Base System Installation Checklist:

Initial boot worked: [Y]
Configure network HW: [E]
Config network: [E]

Load installer modules: [Y]
Detect hard drives: [Y]
Partition hard drives: [Y]
Create file systems: [Y]
Mount partitions: [Y]
Install base system: [Y]
Install boot loader: [Y]
Reboot: [Y]
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Comments/Problems:
After reboot, none of the PCMCIA settings were saved, so networking fails. I'm going
back to boot from CD to see if I can identify and replicate the settings, because the
installer got them all right when it automagically config'd it, but I'm having a hard
time capturing them all.

I'm closing this old installation report, since it looks to me like all the
problems reported in it are old and fixed. There are much newer versions of
the debian installer available, that fix lots of bugs. If you're able to
try one and verify that the problems you reported are fixed (or file a new
report if not), that would be great.

Thanks for your installation report.
