Painless and quick ;)  Have also installed and configured X and KDE -
worked first time ;)

Interesting that d-i i386 installs 2.4.27 as default kernel whereas the
powerpc installer defaults to 2.6.8

Grub worked perfectly picking up both the Windows 98se and Xandros2.0
installations :)
