Bug#275508: sarge installer hang-ups

Package: debian-installer

trying to install Sarge-i386 build from 20041002...

when trying to detect network hardware, all I get is the list of IDE
devices from the CD detection stage. (I should get a list of network
cards, shouldn't I?)

Also, can't find any option to install other modules, such as my sound
card (sb awe32).

On two attempts to install the base system, the system froze/hung.

Finally, compared to the Woody installer, this is SLOW! Especially the
partitioner. Slow, as in 10-seconds staring at the blue screen waiting
for the next dialog to come up. The Woody installer is snappy by
comparison.

I'm trying to install on older hardware: Pentium 90, 64Mb RAM, 1.3Gb
HD. (/boot=25Mb at beginning, swap=256Mb at the end, /=all the rest in
the middle)

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any other details.
