Bug#275378: Package: boot-floppy

Package: boot-floppy
Version: joeyh installer floppies 2004-10-06
Date: 2004-10-07 18:35 UTC (19:35 BST)
Method: floppy
Machine: IBM Thinkpad 560X
Processor: Pentium MMX 233MHz
Memory: 96MB
Comments/Problems:

I'm attempting to install from the Joey H. floppies for 2004-10-06. The installer is rebooting in a loop.

I boot the machine. The splash screen comes up, with 'Press F1 for help, or ENTER to boot: _'

If I hit ENTER, the following come up:

Loading linux................
Loading intrd.gz..............
Ready.

- then the screen blanks, then the system reboots.

(Those are the number of dots after each - 16 on the first line, 14 on the second.)

If I try booting with the following parameters, the messages are identical, except the screen doesn't blank at the end before the reboot.

linux floppy=thinkpad
linux DEBCONF_DEBUG=5
linux BOOT_DEBUG=1
linux acpi=off

Same for 'expert' of each of the above.

- David.
