Package: netcfg Severity: wishlist Tags: d-i Hello It would be real nice if the config information recieved from the DHCP server is stored into the debconf database. This makes sense in this scenario: * boot the computer for debian-installer (without netcfg/dhcp=false) * do the install * get network configuration from DHCP server * go back to main menu * do manual network configuration, with the defaults got from DHCP * continue with the install The benefits are * still DCHP as default configuration * convinent for people who want static configuration * no extra commandline parameters * reasonable defaults for their environment Cheers Geert Stappers
