Comments/Problems:
2 main problems:
i have 2 NICs. The built in NIC on the mobo and a 2nd intel pro 100 S with
chipset 82559. Both of them fail. the built in NIC seems to work ok as far
as detecting hardware goes. but the install freezes either when it attempts
to contact a DHCP server (there is one available, i tested with my laptop).
Or it freezes after i manually enter in some network settings (i enter
192.168.0.100 just for testing).
If i try to install the intel NIC, it freezes during the hardware setup.
If i install the nforce nic, skip the network settings all together, and go
through the rest of the installation, it all seems to work. However, when i
reboot, it fails, with the following error messages:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: unknown partition table
pivot_root: no such file
/sbin/init: 426: cannot open dev/console: no such file
kernel panic: attempted to kill init!
I already filed a bug report on this, before i saw there was a specific
template for installations. Its bug # 274144
