I downloaded
ftp://ftp.no.debian.org/linux/debian/dists/sarge/main/installer-powerpc/current/images/powerpc-small/floppy/
for installation on an old prep box. current is a symlink to 20040801
That image is larger than 1.44MB, and does not fit on a standard
1.44MB floppy. This means it's impossible to install sarge on at least
my IBM 7248-133, without hacking the installer*, as there are no
working split-ramdisk patch for 2.4.
Is it possible to reduce the floppy by some 40Kb?

*) I hacked the installer by drastically reducing the size of
netcfg.templates, removing anything but en_US, making the image some
kb below the magic marker. The installer worked quit smoothly even on
this quite archaic hardware. Thanks for the great work.

Thanks for your bug report.
This is fixed in current daily builds, you'll find them at
http://people.debian.org/~luther/d-i/images/daily/powerpc/floppy-2.4/ -
please retry and feel free to reopen the bug if it's needed.
But beware, daily builds are made for testing purpose only and you should
install unstable (not testing or stable), or you may get unpredictable &
unusable results.
