Comments/Problems:

didn't detect the PCI card properly, therefore went to the onboard video
(luckily i had a small monitor connected at the time). kernel panic on
boot; partial error output:

kernel panic killing interrupt handler
in interrupt handler - not syncing
NIP [c0039f04] wake_up_page+0xc/0x48
LR [c0060194] end_buffer_async_read+0xd4/0x134
call trace c0060194 end_buffer_async_read+0xd4/0x134
c0063c0c end_bio_bh_io_sync+0x58/0x68
c00e3ed8 __end_that_request

rather disappointing not actually seeing the installer because of the
kernel panic. :|
