Machine: Itanium 2

Comments/Problems:

My Itanium has no ps2. The only way to plug a keyboard is to use USB.

The USB keyboard doesn't work with the netinst cdrom.

So I tested the network pxe installation but the keyboard still not
work.

So I tried to modify the initrd in order to load the usb-uhci kernel
module: I mount -o loop the initrd file, and add these ugly lines on
/sbin/debian-installer-startup:

  depmod -a
  modprobe usb-uhci

With these 2 lines, the keyboard works.

dmesg, cpuinfo, etc. can be found at:
http://linux.ensimag.fr/~acrequy/bazard/Debian-IA64-usbkeybord-bugreport/

I suggest:
- either detecting correctly the USB keyboard
- either adding a kernel parameter like "loadmodule=3Dusb-uhci" and parse
  /proc/cmdline in some init scripts.

Feel free to ask another details.

I've confirmed that this is fixed in current build of the images. It
should be fixed in today's or tomorrow's ia64 daily builds.
