What do you (Debian developers) think?

I have put more info in this bug but without any reply so far. Maybe
this #255237 bug should be re-assigned to a discover package? Please let
me know, I would like to help closing this bug.

Wayne, what kernel do you use for the debian-installer, 2.4 or 2.6?

I guess you should also provide which version of the installer you've
used, etc. as specified in
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/report-template.en.html
