Bug#265407: Hotplug bugs lead to reboot loops

Hi,
-The crash was due to hotplug i810-tco module. The errata was read prior to installing but since the PC isn't use for with hot plugable device and also there was display (errata says "No Display") so the taught was that the problem wasn't in the errata.

-Unloading manualy ( rmmod i810-tco ) on every reboot makes the problem go away. The work around in errata statet to add "810-tco" in /etc/hotplug/blacklist, this is already the case on that PC and the bug still appear as i810-tco gets loaded on every reboot. The i810-tco isn't in /etc/modules either don't know how it gets loaded?

-Since the USB ports aren't used at all, what need to be done to disable/remove hotplug?

-As for installing GRUB on fd0 this seems to be a real problem though. Is it suppose to accept /dev/fd0 or fd0 as target device to install grub?

Thank to Joey Hess for the hint about the errata
