I'm very sorry, but I don't understand your explanation.  I *think* that
you're saying that my sound hardware was identified in the pci.lst. 
While I don't dispute that, it isn't particuarly helpful because I still
don't have any sound.  

What steps must I take to get sound working on my computer?  If these
steps are well known, and my sound hardware was correctly identified,
why didn't the installation perform those steps?
