Comments/Problems:
What does the partitioner do in it's "check the swap space" phase?
If it's just doing a media check, it seems a great waste of time.
It takes several minutes to complete for a 1GB swap area.
Maybe a media check was appropriate for the relatively unreliable
disks in use a decade ago when Linux was young, but not today...
Moreover, looking in /proc/swaps on the F2 console while the swap space
check is running indicates that that swap space in in use at the time!
This is probably dangerous -- especially on systems with small RAM.
