Yes, aptitude does this when asked to install any package that is already installed; tasksel asks it to install all standard priority packages and whatever tasks are selected. I agree that it's ugly, and I'm assigining the bug to aptitude since I think it could just omit these messages, or at least have a way to turn them off. -- see shy jo
