Bug#256600: install: Formatting of partitions didn't update parition type
Package: install
Severity: normal
When installing on /dev/hdb I couldn't get Grub to install on the disk.
After a while I realized the problem wasn't with Grub -- it was that the
formatting of the partitions didn't change the partition type!
I could mount the Debian partitions in Red Hat, but Grub looked at the
partitions and saw that the partitions I wanted to boot from was ntfs
and swap! (I tried grub both from my old Red Hat and from Debian sarge.)
I formatted the partitions with Red Hat and then I could install Grub
and boot.
