Giants: Installer report soekris net4801

Hi Debian Install Team

Today, for the first time in my life, I had the fealing that
was once described as "standing on the shoulders of Giants". I used
the installer to install sarge with pxeboot on a Soekris net4801 with
a blanco harddisk. It almost went without a glitch. Four points:
the atftpd does not run in xinetd. Second: the pxelinux.0 from syslinux
needs to be 2.06, 2.04 messes up the first boot. Third: the
Beta4 from 20040429 failed to recognise the disk (a Fujitsu
MHT2030AT), the build from last night (20040623) did. Four: the
serial console setting for the first kernel is not adopted by grub.

For a beta product, this deserves nothing other than outstanding!
Great job! Can't wait for the finished product!

For anyone who doesn't know the net4801: it is a sc1100 (586 look-a-
like from NSC, now AMD) 266MHz, 128MB head- and diskless box with
serial, usb and 3 eth's, usually run with a readonly CompactFlash.
I equiped it with a Fujitsu 30GB hdu as reported.

Sincerely,

Jan.

For those who are interested the boot:
