The virtual machine is using the BootLogic BT-946C (BA80C30) [MultiMaster 10] SCSI adapter of VMWare. The 20040616 sid-d_i correctly identifies the disk. 2. The installer suggests floppy.o when scanning for network hardware. That's potentially confusing. Until 1 is fixed, I can't go further...
