This bug has been fixed in aboot-installer 0.0.10 (and further fixes
have been made in 0.0.11, which will be uploaded soon).

I don't know for sure.  I believe it *should* be able to boot from an
ext3 partition, but aboot-installer is being conservative (in this, if
in nothing else) until I have a chance to test it.  This will happen
after 0.0.11 makes it into the sarge daily images.
