debian-installer daily build report (grub/modconf bug?)

I've completed two installs with the daily build of the new
debian-installer from 6/4. One was on a Pentium IV with 2 Gigs of ram,
the other on an AMD Athlon laptop (Sony Viao).

In both cases, things went rather swimmingly overall, and it seems the
installer team is doing a great job!

The one point of trouble for me on both systems is that grub seems to
load modules every possible filesystem (reiser, xfs, jfs, etc), despite
the fact that I only use ext3. Furthermore, I can't seem to get it to
stop loading them! Using modconf doesn't work and deleting the stage
files from /boot/grub doesn't work. Doing both of these and running
grub-install still doesn't work.

I'm not all that familiar with grub, so maybe I'm missing something but
extensive web searching and reading through the grub docs turned up
nothing. It seems to me that modules that will never be used shouldn't
get loaded and I should still certainly be able to control what gets
loaded with modconf. I'm in the process of compiling a custom kernel
without support for these filesystems, but any feedback would be
appreciated. Please cc my email, as I'm not subscribed.

Thanks again to the installer team for a great product.
