Comments/Problems:
First of all sorry for my bad/poor english.
All went well during install. Now I'm trying to tune configuration
for my laptop. Here are some notes anyway:
1. After base-install I logged in. Use apt-setup to get deb sources and
dist-upgrade the base system. Both aptitude (u and g key next) and
apt-get (dist-upgrade) didn't install any package. Dselect instead
installed 45MB of debs (lynx, gcc and so on). That seems confusing.
I would prefer if they had the same behaviour.
2. netcfg: the question about domain is confusing. If I have a
standalone pc with no routable domain name what should I answer? I left
it blank.
3. console fonts problem. locales were correctly set but fonts were
wrong (for example sone vowels with accent and some special charachters
such the ones used in aptitude). First I tryed euro-support with no
luck. Then I fixed the console fonts problem installing fonty. I think
this package should be suggested some way during install.
4. exim4 hangs during boot process if no network is available. bug
is traced as #243822 and should be fixed soon, but waiting for minutes
after the first boot may scare new debian users.
5. some packages are held back in aptitude after install. There's no
/etc/apt/preferences file and both dselect and apt-get upgrade them with
no problems. As above it would be better if the three had the same
behaviour. I have no idea of why these packages were held back, maybe a
bug?
6. no discover2 yet.
7. anacron should be suggested during install.
8. hard disk is using udma33 only
Anyway great job! I really liked this tc1 release. Base install is
really fast and easy. I've also tried beta1 and beta2 and this release is
way far better.
Thanks again for your work.
