Bug#253470: Bareword "previous_module" not allowed

I had a closer look at /var/log/messages and found:

Setting up console-data (2002.12.04dbs-40) ...
Bareword "previous_module" not allowed while "strict subs" in use at /var/lib/dpkg/info/console-data.config line 1045.
Execution of /var/lib/dpkg/info/console-data.config aborted due to compilation errors.
dpkg: error processing console-data (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit statut 255



There was no /var/lib/dpkg/info/console-data.config file.
