Comments/Problems:

d-i detects NIC and tries correct module tg3. However, "modprobe -v tg3" =
results in "no hardware found" with sarge-i386-netinst.iso (beta3).

tg3 works fine with Knoppix/SuSE/sarge-i386-businesscard.iso (beta3).
I could net-install with businesscard.
btw: bcm5700 also works fine.

best regards
Markus Haiml

I'm closing this bug. 2.4 works and 2.6 does't work because currently
the module doesn't exist; this will be fixed in the near future.
