Machine: VmWare virtual machine

Root Device: SCSI 1Gb virtual HD
Root Size/partition table: Lost it, but root was 30Mb
Output of lspci:

Mount partitions:       [O]
Install base system:    [E]
Install boot loader:    [ ]
Reboot:                 [ ]
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Comments/Problems:

DHCP configuration lead to an error because the dhcp-client-udeb wasn't installed. I suspect this is related to #249355

Partman does not display filesystem types and mount points. #249485

Kernel did not install. Looking at console 3, it appeared as a file
system full problem. This seems related to a bad recipe for
"Multi-user system" in partman-auto. The root filesystem on a 1Gb hard
disk is 30Mb which is now too small for installing the kernel....
