Comments/Problems:
The debian-installer was invoked with expert26 at the boot prompt.
Load installer modules: [E]
The unavailable modules, and the devices that need them are: e1000 (Intel
Corporation 82547EI Gigabit Ethernet Controller)
The unavailable modules, and the devices that need them are: ide-scsi (Linux
IDE-SCSI emulation layer)
-> The missing Ethernet module can be severe for continuing the installation
over the net.
Partition hard drives: [E]
On exisiting ext2/ext3 partion, the following unrecoverable, repeating error
message occured:
This ext2/ext3 filesystem has a rather strange layout! Parted can't resize
this (yet)
-> Thus, I decided to let the debian-installer format the root partition with
ext3 again, which did not produce an error anymore.
-> I've decided to install the kernel-image-2.6.3-1-386
Reboot: [E]
After kernel decompressing, the PnPBIOS section and the following messages, a
kernel panic occured:
general protection fault: 0000[#1]
CPU: 0
EIP: 0098:[<00001013>] Not tainted
EFLAGS: 00010097
EIP is at 0x1013
(now come a lot of stack outputs)
Code: Bad EIP value
<0>kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!
I hope this helps!
With kind regards,
Dirk Kostrewa.
