Hi Martin:
I tried the netinst image from: 
http://gluck.debian.org/cdimage/testing/sarge_d-i/i386/20040526/

I've only one SATA harddrive and it's the only harddrive in this machine.
The RAID feature was never enabled.
The drive was not detected by the partitioning program.
Also, I've noticed that the ide-scsi module was either missing or not
loaded.
