Comments/Problems:

I had to try two installations before having a correct one. During the
first installation :
-I've booted with a 2.6 kernel, before rebooting the network was fully
functional. I've installed a 2.6 kernel on the HD at the end.
-After having rebooted, I was stopped at the configuration of the apt
source. The network was not working.

The configuration of the network was correct (good /etc/resolv.conf,
good /etc/interfaces, the results of ifconfig and route were corrects)
but I was not able to ping any machine except the mine. Even using
directly the IP address of machines on the same local network, I
obtained "Destination Host Unreachable".

During the second installation I've used 2.4 kernel and all was OK.

I've no idea where is the problem.

Thanks for testing this! Since there were no other problems, I'm
