What does "SOL" mean? I couldn't find a definition.
Anyway, I tested the latest daily build (20040510) now, and there seem
to be no problems with 16-bit cards, but Cardbus cards are not put in
devhotplug. So using stab here doesn't really solve anything.

Yes. It was easier that way - I saw no good reason to separate 16-bit
cards and Cardbus ones. 16-bit cards need to have no auto entry, and
Cardbus cards need a hotplug mapping stanza, but there is no harm in
giving both to all of them - it is more of an advantage for various
reasons.
