ppc old-world floppy images broken

Hi,

I've gotten some hints to proceed after my last report, but before I can do 
that, I need a floppy boot.img that actually contains a kernel. The current 
one from

http://people.debian.org/~luther/debian-installer/daily-powerpc-built/2004.05.09/powerpc-small/floppy/boot.img

does not even have the resource forks etc., it is just an empty file system 
(od shows about two screens of output - very sparse for a floppy supposed to 
contain a kernel ;-))

Any ideas?
