Comments/Problems:

Did the most basic install.

On the partition screen selected ?Erase entire disk? then ?All files on
one partition?

On the first reboot after installing GRUB, the machine hung with a ?GRUB
Error 18? message which indicates that ?Selected cylinder exceeds maximum
supported by BIOS?, presumably because I am using a disk >8Gb with an old
BIOS

I do not have this problem using LILO.
A workaround is to create a /boot partition at the beginning of the disk
(see above partition table)

I believe that the ?Erase entire disk? option in partition management
should either create a default /boot partition or at least warn you that
you may need to create one if you are using a large disk with an old BIOS.

Other than that the installer was easy to use.

Cheers,
Gary Hullock
