Bug#247552: usability test for debian installer

Package: installation-reports

I covinced my room mate to make an instalation using beta4, so to keep things short,

I will sum this up in the same manner as he put his opinions:

Problem/Reaction: During HW detection (I think the first) a message box appeared "Error while trying modprobe -v sk98lin" He was really puzzeled and wondered if the installation could fail. Fortunately, pressing continue was not such a bad idea.
Proposal:
	None, yet.

Problem/Reaction:
	In the partitioning menu:
		1. He did understood what LVM was.
		2. The menu seems not too straight forward. I counter-intuitive to go into a sub menu to set a partition.
Proposal:
	1. Add "(experts only)" to the option or a hint after the option gets chosen (!!not a pop-up!!).
	2. Mini help on the partitioning menu. Set the default mount point value as "[choose usage first]" and after setting the first partition usage method, default it's mount point to /.

Problem/Reaction:
He didn't figured out how to use his FAT and NTFS partitions. He wanted them to be visible from linux.
Proposal:
(goes for the previous problem, too)
Find a way to change the "Usage method:" screen. Maybe to a 4 step (read screen) set up: 1. choose what to do with the partition
		2. choose mount point
		3. [is smomething missing here??]
		4. "are you sure?" screen summing up the data, warning that the changes will not be done until pressing "Finised partitioning" from the partitioning menu.
		5. go back to the partitioning menu and set some marker for the partition that was changed.
or (not so good) use some kind of combo-box for the "usage item:" not another new whole screen (debconf(?) limits this?). PLEASE put hints for the icons!

Problem/Reaction:
He thinks that GRUB was installed although he said not to. ( I haven't seen this, but I will try it and confim/infirm it).
Proposal: I'll try to reproduce the problem.

Problem/Reaction:
What the hell is PPP connection and why would I need it?
Proposal:
Say "PPP (modem) connection"

Problem/Reaction:
CD detection failed due to the fact that he was told to remove it from the drive after first stage.
Proposal:
notice the user to insert the cd in the tray (yes I know, theay are that stupid) before proceeding to the detection. Say that is likely that the cd is the same as the one used before.

Problem/Reaction:
As the configuration of apt was not done properly, apt failed.
Proposal:
have no ideea, maybe he was playing stupid too much. I don't think he didn't understood the configuration menu, just that he was trolling as he was already frustrated.
