I just tested the daily version 20040501 and the problem is somewhat
fixed, i.e., I may select the keyboard from a list of available layouts
but there is no layout matching my hardware.

I think the problem is related to the fact that USB keyboards are
descriptions of desktop mac keyboards and not powerbook keyboards.

Basically, if I select 'Italiana' (Italian), I get the wrong keyboard
since my keyboard is a qwerty while I get an azerty. Moreover, all
accented letters aren't working (there is already a fix for this in
#228347).

Should I close this bug and reopen a new one for the missing keyboard?
Against what package should I file the new one (console-data?)?

Thanks,
Giuseppe
