It already works on an already-installed Linux system as this is the
system I'm currently writing with. I use the 2.6.5-1-686 Debian
kernel.

I will soon report whether daily builds currently work out of the box
(ie without manual loading of any module) on this system. It seems
important to me that boxes like Dell Latitude X200 or X300, which use
such Firewire CD/DVD readers may be supported easily by Debian
Installer.
