Thanks for your bug report.
Within kbd-chooser, it appears the fr.po entry in kbd-chooser
has strange characters for "sunkeymap". Could you please
edit this, and try the kbd-chooser again: 
I am on holiday from tonight and will not have a chance to test
this and fix it until Sunday,
