Comments/Problems:

The network card doesn't work...

Contents of /etc/network/interfaces:
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).
# This entry denotes the loopback (127.0.0.1) interface.
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# This entry was created during the Debian installation
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

Running `ifup eth0`:
Internet Software Consortium DHCP Client 2.0pl5

For info, please visit http://www.isc.org/dhcp-contrib.html

eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
Bind socket to interface: No such device
exiting.

Then running `ifdown eth0`:
cat: /var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid: No such file or directory
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

I'm new to Debian (no expert at Linux in general either), and don't know where to look next (and any pointers would be apprieciated :-).

Cheers,
Dave Balch.
