Bug#244205: A further update

An update on my installation story:

The system is running. But I encountered 2 other issues.

1) Just after pre-configuring all the packages and before the 
installation started, one of the programs complained that it could not 
find /usr/lib/python2.3/compileall.py. Lucky enough I still had a copy 
lying around that I could use.

2) The "zo file generation" took about 2x14 minutes on my box, 
significantly longer than the 10 minute "limit".
